We wanted the absolute best product to protect their bones and keep them healthy.Vitamin D is arguably one of the most important vitamins to keep your bones healthy. It aids your body in absorbing calcium and phosphorous, so for those that don’t get a lot of sunlight, consider supplementing with vitamin d.Many people that are lactose intolerant, vegan, older than 50, have darker skin, kidney conditions, and taking anticonvulsant drugs are often found to have vitamin d deficiencies. Working together with vitamin D, calcium is the nutrient that helps to build strong bones and maintains your bone health. If you don’t get enough calcium in your diet, then your body will take it from your bones. Given that your body doesn’t produce calcium, you rely on foods high in calcium to ensure you’re gaining enough. For those on plant-based diets, look towards fortified breads, cereals, soy products, and certain types of beans to gain calcium. Combined with these two nutrients, we incorporated the rare vitamin k2 given it plays a major factor in the metabolism of calcium and may improve bone health and lower the risk of osteoporosis.Numerous studies have shown that those with a deficiency or poor intake of vitamin K, typically have lower bone mass, osteoporosis, and fractures.To many people it might look strange that we’ve incorporated turmeric into our bone support. But turmeric actually has amazing benefits for bones and joints. It’s an anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic that can reduce pain, as well as reducing the risk of osteoporosis. It prevents the loss of bone minerals and influences bone production cells in a positive way. While preventing and reducing pain, it can also aid the healing of bone fractures.     Our Story

    The Plant Era was formed by Nicholas Orsini who discovered the power of plant-based diets while training for an Ironman. His recovery accelerated and performance was improved through a lower body fat, better mental clarity, and greater health. Since a cycling trip across America in 2015, Orsini was constantly disappointed in the sports nutrition options out there due to the added sugar, artificial sweeteners, and lack of natural options. Not to mention, most had poor solubility, texture, and taste. It was from these holistic experiences that The Plant Era was born, and after nine months of trial and error, a product he was finally happy with was developed.
